The Unknown "Blue"

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

This is last weekend project - a Twice Around the World (TAW) Wire Wrapped Bracelet.
Unfortunately I don't know the type or name of this stone. Each of them measures about 1cm in diameter and I got them from New Zealand. Beautiful shade of blue.
Any idea what stone is this?

She Did it Again! - Wire Wrapped Cross Pendant & TAW Bracelet

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Hi all. I am back but been feeling tired for the last three days.
Not enough sleep and lots of work to catch up with.
Have not been touching my stones and beads for a couple of days and I am missing them already.
But weekend is very near.
Since I don't have anything to share for the time being, here is sharing with you what the very talented Emily of Emily Secret Passion been up to <3
This time around she made the Swirly Wire Wrapped Cross Pendant based on this Wire Wrapped Cross Pendant Tutorial.

and the TAW Bracelet based on the TAW Bracelet Tutorial.

Like many of us, Emily is self-taught and she is very very talented.
Just look at her pretties on her blog here - Emily's Secret Passion.
Thank you for sharing Emily and I am very proud of you.
Happy weekend folks :)

Back to Basic Wire Wrapping

Friday, July 09, 2010

In the next few hours we will be flying off to Penang.
For what? Lets just say to meet the relatives :)
We will be there over the weekend + Monday and Tuesday.
Lets see, the last time I was there was about 20 years ago when I was still a student.
Now you can guess how young I am...LOL.
That trip was an unforgettable one but I leave that story for another time...
ahhh...you know how students life was...so innocent and curious...happy and carefree...
At that time, I didn't know that one day I will have relatives in Penang...that's life...

Anyway, back to wire jewelry, its Back to Basic with this bracelet.

This involved mostly basic wire wrapped shapes. Anyone can make this.
Let loose, have fun with the wire and it will not disappoint you.
Two types of stones here - Amethyst and moonstone.
Love the hook and wire wrapped water lily attached to the clasp.
Been a while since I last made similar clasp like this one. This one is really sturdy as I wire wrapped it with 28ga wire so that it won't straighten due to wear and tear.
Simple wire swirls bent on the opposite directions to form a link. Use thicker wire for this - 19ga.

Lets see whats interesting in Penang after this.
Meantime, have a great weekend! I sure will :)

Sparkly Pretties, Time and Friends

Thursday, June 24, 2010

How time flies when there are lots to do and learn. There are friends to keep in touch with, time for meeting, time for making new friends, time for work, time for family, time for play, time for yourself, time for blogging J, etc. etc. It is never enough.
Last weekend, I made these few pretties for a dear friend. They are mixture of colors of Swarovski crystals, wire wrapped with sterling silver wire. MH likes her jewelry to be as colorful as possible. According to her, colors make life more exciting, happy and not boring. Back in late 80’s/early 90’s, when we were still uni students….hmm….makes me feel old L, she gave me a batik printed nightgown -- with bright rainbow colors printed all over it…Can’t remember for what occasion but I still have it and it always reminds me of how colorful MH could be J
MH if you are reading this, the nightgown is still in good shape and colors, even after 20 years.
I am more of a black, gray and white color person but life is exciting and not boring at all. So, it’s not the colors is it? but more of how you view life and how you want it to be…exciting or boring regardless of colors…J what am I mumbling about?
……anyway…just enjoy the pretties and colors.

Somehow I couldn’t get nice pictures of them. Could it be the background?

TAW Wire Wrapped Bracelet by Connie

Saturday, June 05, 2010

Connie is so kind to share with me photos of her TAW wire wrapped Bracelet made based on my TAW Bracelet Tutorial. She made two of them but they are still without the clasps. Nevertheless, she did very well for a first try and I am very proud of her :)
Connie told me she would only be able to complete them in two or three weeks time as she will be away.
I can't wait that long :) so I said I will show them off first and will re-post the completed pieces later when she is done with them.

This picture is a bit blurry.
Have great weekend all.

Multi Stones and Colors

Monday, March 08, 2010

This multi-stones and colorful wire cuff took the longest time to complete.
Not sure why! I started yesterday and only managed to finish this evening.

Various beads and stones were used for this cuff.
19ga wire for the frame and 28ga for coiling and wrapping stones, crystals and pearls to the frame.

Kuching is so hot these few days.
When its hot and humid, the mood for creating also affected...just wishing there's an air condition in the living room :)

Day and Night, Two Colors Themed Bracelet

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Don't forget to take part in my Sparkly Ring Tutorial Giveaway here - Free tutorial for 3 lucky readers - open till 5th February 2010. Go here to comment and participate.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day and Night Themed Wire Wrapped Bracelet - Pearl and 8mm black Swarovski Crystal.
The Sunday Market is a great place for ideas although most of the pretties sold there are stretch bracelets.
I saw a combination of 2 different colors stone for a stretch bracelet which is inspired me to create this day & night themed bracelet.
Added a heart shaped wired clasp to make the bracelet less boring :)
Shall be making more of them, with different colors stones though.

Braided Wire Cuff - Facing the Cobra Edition

Friday, December 18, 2009

The problem with taking too many pictures is to decide which one to post here.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy these pictures.
This braided wire cuff was completed many days ago to be paired with the green braided ring posted earlier. They are now with their new owner :) Other similar braided wire cuff I wire wrapped previously are here and here.

Gem Among the Thorns

Sunday, November 29, 2009

Its durian season again in Sarawak and you can see this King of Fruits all over the City...ok a bit exagerating here but they are definitely in season.
Hubby bought some back this afternoon and I took the opportunity to snap picture of this newly completed cuff on top of one of this thorny fruit.

This cuff is wrapped with various gemstones, pearls and Czech beads. It is not as easy as it looks especially on the part of shaping the wires to fit the stones and making sure that the measurement would not be more than 7 inches. It is still beautiful though especially for those who love lively and fresh colors.
Happy weekend all.

Purple-Themed, Net Connection and X'mas

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

The net connection was really bad for the last two days. It was down on Sunday and when it got back on, it seems to have slowed down a lot. It was down again last night so I went to bed early. Maybe it was back in the middle of the night, dunno! but it was ok this morning.

If I delayed on emailing tutorials to you for the last two days, I apologize but I am blaming Telekom for the delay. I hope it will get back to normal soon.

To perk up the day, here is another purple-themed bracelet to share with you.

Since X'mas season would be here soon, I will be announcing X'mas Sales for items on my Etsy Shop very soon.
So, keep posted.

I have been wanting to post this...

Friday, November 06, 2009

These pictures should have been posted earlier but I just didn't get around to doing it till tonight. So, feast your eyes on this braided wire cuff.

Feel the Blue

Monday, September 14, 2009

wireblissmei wire wrapped bracelet feel the blue

Sunday is gone! gone!
Been feeling blue, green, green and pink for the last two days. That's because I have been making these type of wire wrapped bracelets the last few days.

One thing about wire wrapping these type of bracelets is that I got to use some of my odd bead collection. Beads that I do not know what to do with as they are in odd numbers. Sometimes there is only one of them :)

This piece here is wrapped mostly with 22ga wire and measures about 19cm but extendable to 20cm as I added 3 jump rings at the end.

Feel the Green

Sunday, September 13, 2009

wireblissmei - wire wrapped braceletGreen is the theme today.

This one measures about 19cm, extendable to 20cm.
