Wire Wrapped Cluster Ring

Back in October 2007, I made a similar wire wrapped cluster ring.
Wow! How time flies. I didn't make a lot of this ring though.
In fact, this is only my second one actually :)
All components except for the stones and beads are handcrafted.
Leave you all with this ring and have a great weekend.
Will be back soon.

Herringbone Weaved Rings Revisited

It's been a while since I got into this Herringbone Weaved Craze.
In fact, when I first got hooked with wire wrapped jewelry, the Herringbone Weaved technique is one of the first that I learned....because....the tutorial is available for free online.
Free tut link at the bottom of this post.
They can be ugly if you are new to this weave...LOL.
Look at these two that I made 3 years ago..don't laugh!
But then I got hooked and made more of them.
So, the lesson from this...don't give up, you will end up making beautiful Herringbone Weaved Rings....hehehe...like me...
Here is for Sunday sharing.

Two Wire Wrapped Rings

Here are the two rings I made last weekend.
This first one here is a wire wrapped Jasper ring. This stone has two holes on it.
Because of that, I spent quite some time figuring out how to wire wrap so as not to get one messy wrap.
Chipped one stone in the process....the preferred color by the lady who comissioned this.
Now I am not sure if she likes this color.
If she doesn't, I will keep this for myself :) Love it.

Another fruity wire wrapped ring. Made this one many times before.
Learned how to make this from one of the Yahoo Groups.
If not mistaken, it's Beadingholics but I maybe wrong.
Searched for the tutorial but can't find it there or other groups.
Maybe it's removed.

Wire Wrapped Ring - Steel Rose

Made a few rings last weekend but my camera ran out of battery after only a few shots of these wire wrapped rose rings.
Battery is now fully charge but I have to put off taking pictures of the other two rings - emm...busy with other things :)
Maybe tonight!
Anyway, here's for your viewing pleasure.

If you are curious about how to make this wire wrapped rose rings, check it out here - Wire Wrapped Rose Ring Tutorial at Etsy
Its in the low cost tutorial category (USD3) and caters for beginners in wire jewelry.
Relatively easy and a quick project. Great for last minute project/s :)

Shall be posting some pictures from our Penang trip on the next post and then ...
....a free wire wrapped jewelry tutorial, still in the making...give me a bit more time...

Till then, have a great week all.

Blissfully White and Winding, Wire Wrapped Jasper Ring

There are many ways to wire wrap a ring and this is one of the methods (Winding Elegance) that got me wondering how on earth it's done?
I don't remember exactly when I purchased this tutorial (roughly more than a year ago) but I do remember being curious about the method. Very stunning indeed and original. Since then, I have seen many similar tutorials (both free and paid) but I just can't seems to find them at the moment (mental note: must bookmark these sites in future).
Here is my take on this method with a bit of modification as my bead has holes and I use all round wire. The stone is Jasper and it turned out ok :)

Sparkly and Wiggly Rings - Lapis Lazuli

8mm Lapis Lazuli wrapped with 20ga Sterling Silver wire
Not so productive last weekend but managed two rings, only. Both are 8mm Lapis Lazuli wrapped with 20ga Sterling Silver wire.
I wish I have thicker wire for the wiggly ring.
With 20ga it doesn't feel that sturdy even after some hammering.
However, the one wrapped based on my Sparkly Crystal Ring method is just nice and strong :)
Headache been visiting for the last 24 hours and I am signing off right after this.
Rest and sleep is the best cure for headache....so goodnight and sweet dreams my dear readers!

Happy Mother's Day, Wire Woven Ring - Adjustable

Happy Mother's Day to All Mothers in the whole wide world! psst...

It's been a while and now I am back to weaving this adjustable ring.
One of my favorite thanks to Louise of  jewelryspectrum.
Learned this from her almost two years ago and still loving it.
This time around, instead of 28ga, I used 26ga and change the weaving from 'S' weave to a straight one.
Still the same feeling and outcome.

Cheryl's Sparkly Crystal Rings

This post should have been out earlier.
I received an email from Cheryl with attached pictures of her first attempt of the Sparkly Crystal Ring based on my tutorial. I was stuck in a hotel room in Bintulu with lousy wifi connection so didn't manage to blog about it.
Back home, I got distracted by work and an urgent custom order so......here it is...
Don't you feel energize with the color combination?
Very well executed for a first try.

I did not see them there last week but now Cheryl has few of them in her shop - Sugar Sugar Designs
The extra coils for the shank make the ring more sturdy.
All the best for you Cheryl.

I have forgotten how many of other jewelry friends' creations I have posted here but I will never get tired of showing off your works :)
So, if you have pretties made based on my tutorial/s, show them off!
I'd love to show them off here for you too. Just email me pictures of your piece/s.
If you have website, webshop, blog, etc, let me know too and I can link to them in the post.
Good for you and good for me :D

Rewired Necklace, Braided Ring, Lala Clams

Today is for relaxing.
Just taking my own sweet time and not worrying about the long list of "todo"
Went out for lunch with the family then off to Bako - as usual in search of fresh fish and seafood.
Got some little fish and lala clams for dinner tonight. Yummy!

Here's what I completed today.
Re-wiring of this Chinese bead necklace.
Added the two Labradorite (on top of the brown stones) for its "labradorescence".
Hope the wearer will benefits from the Labrodorite - strength, clarity, perseverance and integration.
Re-wiring of this Chinese bead necklace
Pretty heavy and plus size.
Braided ring with blue stone
This braided ring is an experimental piece....again!
Not so successful as the wire, 23ga is too thin for this design.
Can't do much as the size of the hole does not allow bigger wire :(
Will look for alternatives.
Have a great remaining weekend.

New Layout, Logo and Adjustable Ring

By now you must have noticed what I did to my blog - a complete makeover. Something I have been thinking and wanting to do for a long time.
It's been almost a week but I am still tweaking here and there trying to clean up the site whenever I have the time.
You might not be able to access the site sometimes for the last few days but it should be ok now except for a link that is still not working at the time I am writing this post ;)

I gave up on Internet Explorer. I think the problem is IE and not my blog.
I tried accessing with IE and it got stuck halfway and just hung.
If you are using IE, I expect you'd be facing the same problem.
So, PLEASE change to other browser such as FireFox.

Oh ya! I got my new logo as well :)
Planning to make one with real wire and see how it goes.

How do you like this heart shaped potato? Love is great! even with potato :)

If you have the time, I would like to hear what you think of my new blog layout/design and logo?
No worry, I can accept positive and negative comments.
There should not be any problem with the comment box!
Thank you for your time in advance.

If you would like to know the creator of this new template layout/design, check out Derek at BlogerSkinz. I discovered him by accident but at the right time :)

Adjustable Woven Ring - Tiger Eye

Adjustable Woven Ring - Tiger EyeThis, I made couple of days ago.
Moving away from Black Onyx, this is Tiger Eye - welcoming the year of the Tiger :) Grrrrrrrrr..............

We are almost done with the cleaning and shopping. Just some last minute preparation for the reunion dinner and we are all ready to welcome the Lunar New Year.
I am looking forward to the long holidays rather than the celebration (shhh! don't tell people at home), hoping to finish off few projects that's been KIVed since last year. Yay! Go Mei! Go!

Lord of the Rings - Adjustable

Hi Giveaway winners, have you started your Sparkly Crystal Ring project?
Care to share some pictures of your first sparkly? :) Just hoping

Anyway, I am back to 'work' today, finishing this ring here and also waxed the car. Part of the Chinese New Year spring cleaning.
Simple and adjustable wire wrapped ring with Japanese seed beads (blue)
Simple and adjustable wire wrapped ring with Japanese seed beads.
The new owner stopped by to pick it up this evening and she is loving it too.
She is calling it "My Lord of the Rings" :)
Planning to make one with gemstones but need to find really tiny stone measuring about 3mm.

Do you know that it cost $160 to get our car wash and wax here in Kuching.
I am referring to a normal car wash center...not those expensive looking center.
We were told the price will increase this Thursday as it draws nearer to the big day. Duh!
I dunno if that is the normal price for waxing as I have never done it so $160 is waaaaaay too expensive for me.
I'd rather use that amount of money on other things like gemstones and wires :) :)!
So, as with previous years, we DIY.
With hubby and another helper, it took us only about an hour to wax my little car.
And I am happy that I saved $160 for gems and wires...hehehe!
I hope you have a great weekends too!

Wire Wrapped Bird Cage Turquoise Rings (Triplets) and Mr. Spiky Pendant

Not as productive as I wanted to be the last few days. Some delayed projects and inability to meet deadlines. No hard feelings but I got time extension :)

Identical turquoise wire wrapped bird cage ring
Here is my Triplets! Identical bird cage ring. These are tiny rings...size 7 done with 22ga wire.
This is an easy and fun project to make. Approximately 5 min each ring. These were done in between a very difficult project.

Meet Mr. Spiky. This piece is based on Carmen's tutorial - Spike Seahorse. Great technique and I can see many possibilities from this technique. Just haven't got the time to explore more. Next year maybe..:)
Talking about which, Have you list down your New Year resolutions?
Me, not yet - still thinking.

Wire Wrapped Multi Gemstone Ring

This multistone ring seems to look better from the inside than the outside :)
A really tiny ring for a tiny finger - size 7. Stones are Tourmaline, Moonstone and Cherry Quartz, all my favorite stones.
Well, its 3 more days till Christmas and I still owe people some pretties. Hope I can finish them in time.
Got to go now, happy viewing and get inspired.

Ethnic Ring - The Eyes are Watching

Today I am reminded of Iza when I made this Ethnic Ring. If you don't know her, check out her awesome jewelry designs here. She has an etsy shop selling tutorials here.
Anyway, back to the ring, I took longer time than usual to complete this ring. Actually I redo 3 times to get the right size. The first one was too small, on second try the wires didn't want to cooperate so I threw the whole thing into the dustbin...a bit frustrated. Finally on third try, just the size I wanted.

Braided Wire Cuff - Facing the Cobra Edition

The problem with taking too many pictures is to decide which one to post here.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy these pictures.
This braided wire cuff was completed many days ago to be paired with the green braided ring posted earlier. They are now with their new owner :) Other similar braided wire cuff I wire wrapped previously are here and here.
