Wire Wrapped Heart Brooch

Another wire wrapped Heart from me. This time around for a brooch. This is a commissioned piece and the overall design is from the Client herself.
She also indicated the approximate size for the brooch. That is the little square where the brooch is sitting in this picture below. Almost exact size.
However, I didn't managed to wire wrap the flower within the heart as designed. Almost there but not as symmetrical as in her sketch. I got carried away.....!

Instead of one stone at the center, it ended up with several as seen here. Hmmm....I hope she still likes it this way. Those reddish teardrop stones are agate. The rest are seed pearl and Swarovski Crystal.

The wire end for the pin is sharpened by filing and lots of hammering done to harden the heart frame and the pin to make it springy.

  1. I am sure she will love it. Very nice design. I love the asymmetrical touch. That is so very difficult for me to do, I admire everybody who can *g.

  2. Thank you Galadryl. It is easier to be asymmetric than symmetric in wire jewelry making :)
