Another Crystal Earring

swarovski crystals wire wrapped into dangle earringsOnly managed to get this one done by evening today. A crystal earring similar to this one made last May. This is a commissioned piece. I am experimenting with outdoor photo taking of the jewelry piece and this one is not bad....I think. Tomorrow hopefully would be more fruitful, flowerful..., at least there is one half done just now. But that would be for tomorrow.

Next wire jewelry projects

Weekend is just around the corner, so I am already planning for my next wire jewelry projects. Its "hard" when you are addicted to it :). There are just so many in the list. This list actually only exist in my mind so it tends to change from time to time or I just forget about one and added another new one. Not very good! Must start writing them down in my notebook. The following week I will be taking a week leave from work ---not to make jewelry though, but to look after my two little boys as my mom in-law will be off for her long awaited holidays oversea. But of course, I will steal some time to make more wire jewelries...LOL.

Go for Unique Handmade Jewelry

Do you consider jewelry that you made are unique? When looking for jewelry, do you get attracted to pieces that has its own "personality" or unique? When you decide to buy a piece, would you think - This is a special piece and nobody would have the same one as this one. Dictionary.com define unique as: –adjective
  1. existing as the only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics: a unique copy of an ancient manuscript.
  2. having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable: Bach was unique in his handling of counterpoint.
  3. limited in occurrence to a given class, situation, or area: a species unique to Australia.
  4. limited to a single outcome or result; without alternative possibilities: Certain types of problems have unique solutions.
  5. not typical; unusual: She has a very unique smile.
–noun
  1. the embodiment of unique characteristics; the only specimen of a given kind: The unique is also the improbable.
As such, if the answers to the three questions above are yes, then you are a unique person.....:-) because you love unique jewelries just like me. In creating and making my wire wrap jewelries, I try as far as possible to make pieces that are unique because I want the wearer to feel and know that they own a unique piece and there is no other pieces that are the same. At least, most of the time I tried, but I do make exemption if there are requests for similar design. An example of this is my twice around the world design. I made quite a few similar ones but with different stones. The persons who requested for it knows that some other people also owns similar one but they wouldn't mind. And of course they are similar but not identical. That will be the catch phrase. Not everyone can be a great handmade jewelry producer. To become one you need a lot of skills, creativity and inborn talent. You will need to spend a lot of time perfecting your skill. On the other hand, even if you think you do not have the skill, creativity or inborn talent, you will never know until you try out. For me anything handmade and handcrafted is unique. Remember, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. So, let us remind ourself to create more unique jewelries. Go! Go! Mei. Yeh!

sead beads coiled with fine stainless steel wire to form beaded beads Continuing from last night's migraine, here is the haywire (sorry about the spelling mistake last night - brain gone haywire as well) bracelet which I am supposed to get done last night. What beautiful day today - without the migraine of course. Quite an eye catching piece (admiring my own work - :)). The size of each of this haywire bead is about 1 cm wide and 1.4 cm long. I used 24g wire and seed beads, lots of them. I think a smaller haywire bead would be nicer. Probably that will be my next project, if I didn't get distracted by other wire wrapping ideas.

Wire Woven Bead Cap - Yippy! My first

Wire Woven Bead Cap Wire Woven Bead Cap Wire Woven Bead Cap Thanks to Iza Malczyk, now I am able to make this wire woven bead cap. If you check out her website, you will find beautiful woven wire jewelry of various designs. They are all so very beautiful. Her tutorial on this wire woven bead cap is very easy to follow but to actually make them is not as easy as it looks. It took me about 4 hours to finish this small piece. Phew! Its tedious works but the end result is worth the time. The wire broke at several places during weaving but fortunately they are not that visible and I managed to hide them well :) Hopefully with practice, the time required to make this type of wrapping will be shortened.
