Change Template?

My hands are itchy again. Not on wire jewelry though but on my template design. Been thinking of changing this template to a new one. Just haven't found the "one" yet. I recently changed the template of my other blog to pitch black one and for now i quite like it.
We will see for this blog.

Yin & Yang Wire Wrapped Pendant

Today I got my hair cut really really short. Reason being, I am too lazy to manage long hair and I would rather spend more time with my wire jewelry :) While flipping through a magazine in the hair salon, I came across a Yin & Yang accessories. Ping! That immediately gave me an idea and once done with the hair, rushed home to get started with the project before the idea got dissolved or distracted. And the outcome is this Yin & Yang Pendant!. Wish I used more contrasting color for the black and white. Here, 4mm gray swarovski crystal is combined with white ones. Wondering what the three black ones are doing here?? Hehehe! I ran out of white and gray crystal. Actually there are some empty spaces that I should be filling up with more crystals but since this is sort of like an experimental piece, I leave it at that. It is about 1.5in in diameter. The best thing about this pendant is that I made it detachable. Wear or remove anytime I like provided it didn't fell off accidentally......LOL. Square Engtangled Bezel

wire wrapped Square Engtangled Bezelwire wrapped Square Engtangled Bezelwire wrapped Square Engtangled Bezel Still with entangled bezel, today I made another one with a square glass, a gift from Christa whom I got to know in yahoo group. Been thinking of how to wrap this glass and finally solved with the entangled bezel technique. This one is big and thick, about 5 cm in length, 4 cm in width and about 1 cm in thickness (after wrapping). The theme color is purple therefore I incorporated some purple 4 mm and 4mm swarovski crystals and amethyst beads. This piece used a lot of 26g wire. At least 6 ft due to the size of the cab and its thickness.

Get Entangled with the Wire Wrap Bezel

Entangled with the Wire Wrap BezelEntangled with the Wire Wrap BezelStill hook with the entangled wire bezel, I got this done this evening. This one is quite large - about 1.5in long and more than 1in across. Took me about 2.5 hours and about 4 to 5 feet of 26g wire for the border wrap. I thought I can make 2 or 3 of them today but it is not to be......:( Hopefully tomorrow will be more productive but maybe not as I might be going "Hari Raya" visiting. Native Beads of Sarawak - Old and New

Native Beads of Sarawak - Old and New - Lukut (Rosette beads)Native Beads of Sarawak - Old and NewNative Beads of Sarawak - Old and NewNative Beads of Sarawak - Old and NewNative Beads of Sarawak - Old and New Here are some of the native beads that I managed to dig out from my box. These were bought from the Kelabits in Miri when hubby was there few years back. Too "sayang" to use them! These pictures below are similar beads I bought in Kuching recently. Not sure how authentic they are but nevertheless, I still like them. Here is an interesting article on Sarawak Beads if you have the time to read - A Tale of Beads. The first picture on top left looks like the Lukut (Rosette beads) mentioned in the article. Entangled Wire Bezel Pendant

Entangled Wire Bezel PendantEntangled Wire Bezel PendantFinally this project took off and I am quite happy with the result. This entangled wire bezel pendant is based on Lisa Niven's tutorial in Step by Step Wire Jewelry Summer Preview 2007 Issue. The mother of pearl cab measures about 1.5in x 1in. The swarovski crystals used are 4mm in size while the wire for weaving is 26g. I can wear this one whole day and everyday of the year. Planning for some more similar projects but on different stones/beads. This project is fun to make as the wire wrapping/weaving depends very much on your own imagination and there is no wrong or right as to where you want your wire to go or how you want to wrap it around the bezel.
