Tourmaline and Pearl Face Mask, Eyeglasses Strap Convertible to Layered Bracelet or Necklace

That's a long title.

Before that let me announce - I so love this convertible chain/strap 💗

Still with face mask and eyeglasses strap.

This is an extension to the earlier Tourmaline face mask and eyeglasses strap posted a few days earlier - here.

Instead of one, this is a "2 in 1" piece and actually convertible into "5 in 1".

Yeah! 5 in 1! Just read on.

The main function is as eyeglasses and face mask straps at the same time.

Then, there are 3 more ways to wear it.

Material and Components:

The strap or chain consists of the following:

• 2.5 mm - 3 mm natural gemstones - Tourmaline
• 3 mm natural pearl for the eyeglasses strap
• 2 pairs of stainless steel lobster clasps (non-tarnish)
• Other connectors - stainless steel jump rings and stainless steel knot ends caps

The strap length for the eyeglasses, together with the Tourmaline section that goes around the back of the neck is about 60 cm.

Longer than that, the eyeglasses would be hanging too far down your chest (when not in use). 

It will knock or rub against other surfaces, especially the desk or table if you are leaning close to the desk while working, eating, etc.

The length of the face mask strap (Tourmaline) is shorter at approximately 50cm. 

Shortened because the face mask sits lower than the eyeglasses.

Convert into a necklace by hooking the lobster clasps together when the Tourmaline sections are not hooked on the face mask.

First, you can wear it as an eyeglasses strap and necklace at the same time. 

Just hook the tourmaline sections together to turn it into a necklace. 

2 in 1 eyeglasses and face mask straps.

Second, use it for both eyeglasses and face masks. 

This is how it looks from the front.

Convert into a layered necklace

Third, when not use for eyeglasses and face mask, convert it into a layered necklace. 

Note the pearl section is longer here.

You can also turn it around so that the longer section goes to the back, or vice-versa. 

Another alternative to the conversion. Pearl sections together.

Fourth, you can reposition the layers so that the pearl pairs/ sections or Tourmaline sections are together. 

I like this combination better.

Once again, you can turn the necklace around to show off the Tourmaline sections instead. 

Fifth, as a layered bracelet.

What can I say, this is my favorite piece.

So versatile and practical.

Convertible to at least 5 lovely usages.

Wire Wrapped Bunga Terung Pearl Earrings

New design for a pair of pearl earrings.

Simple one-of-a-kind wire-wrapped Bunga Terung. 

Each Bunga Terung is wire-wrapped with a piece of 20 g stainless steel wire.

While the pearl is wrapped with 24 g wire.

The Bunga Terung itself is about 2 cm in length, end to end.

Wire Wrapped Bunga Terung - One of a Kind

Bunga Terung in English is Eggplant (Terung) Flower (Bunga).

This flora motif is popular in traditional Iban tattoos.

As tattoo, the Bunga Terung marks the rite of passage of a boy into manhood.

The spiral at the center represents tali nyawa, literally translated into "life rope" - the rope of life.

This spiral is similar to the underside of a tadpole. 

Therefore, the Bunga Terung with the tali nyawa symbolizes the beginning of a new life - you may read more at Wikipedia.

Here's the prototype of my wire-wrapped Bunga Terung, inspired by the Iban's Bunga Terung.

They don't look exactly like the Bunga Terung symbol in tattoo, but that's where the inspiration came from.

These are wire-wrapped with 20g and 21g stainless steel and brass wires. The pair at the bottom left was hammered flat.
