Wire Wrapped Cross - Cherry Quartz

Been wanting to post this wire wrapped cross since last night but just manage to find some time to do it now. The two boys are taking their nap and its raining outside. So, its cool and quite. This is a commissioned piece. The frame is 18ga wire while stones are made up of Cherry Quartz, garnet and amethyst as the center piece. All wrapped with 28ga wire. I made something similar last year. I actually forgotten how I made it! Yeah! it happens. Wire Wrapped Cross - Cherry Quartz WireBlissMei

They Are All in Full Bloom

Remember the orchid (Labukensis) I blogged about almost 3 weeks ago? Well, they are now in full bloom :) There are 7 plants blooming all at the same time. I tried to capture them all in a shot but the shots didn't do them justice. They are more beautiful in real life. Anyhow, do enjoy the blooms.

Duh! I Broke It

The whole afternoon's work down the drain! I only managed to enjoy this bracelet | cuff for a few minutes when I decided to twist the spiral a bit. I didn't know the copper wire is so "brittle". Sad! Sad! Sad! Guess I am so use to working with stainless steel wire. Broken copper wire cuff Broken copper wire cuff Broken copper wire cuffWireBlissMei

Bamboo and Wire

First, I have a bunch of plain bamboo cuff, handcrafted by the "Penans" of Sarawak. They are not easy to find. These, I got from a friend's girlfriend whose work requires her to travel to the interior of Sarawak where this tribe lives. Secondly, only one species of bamboo is suitable to make this type of cuff, I was told. Now, this friend's girlfriend just quit the job and I don't know if I can get them again. So, what do I do with them? Actually I am suppose to draw some design on them with fire but have not gotten around to that yet. Then an idea struck me today......scroll down for result. a bunch of plain bamboo cuffwired bamboo cuffHow about that? New Turquoise and Swarovski Crystal Bracelet

Made this bracelet today. These donuts turquoise beads (6mm) have been with me for a while. Decided to take them out to play today and the result is this 7.5in bracelet. Still thinking if I should list it in my Etsy Shop. Turquoise and Swarovski Crystal BraceletTurquoise and Swarovski Crystal Bracelet Playing with Wire Again This colored wires were purchased from the mall recently. Not sure what they are made of as the label was in Japanese but they are very soft. Too soft! Played around with it and created wire names (can you read the names? :D) Got problem with the letter 'n' and 'r' in Henry but William is ok, yeah! ok only. Then I played around with some basic shapes just for the fun of it and get the boys all excited with the wire fish. wired name - Henrywired name - williamwired shape - fish and music note WireBlissMei
