Jewelry-Simple Pearl Necklace & Earring
Here's a simple pearl necklace and earring set made today. A commissioned piece. I tried a new type of clasp/hook for this piece. Something I have never tried before but it turned out quite good. Seems to hook the necklace securely. The length of the necklace is about 18 inches, just nice to hang around the neck and show it off a bit...LOL.

Friends from Jewelry Forum
This is a very good month. First there are the beads from Calgary. The excitement was not over yet when I received yet another parcel from US. This time it is from a friend I got to know in one of the jewelry forum I joined. Thank you Christa-Maria! Christa's daughter ~ Natalie Hahn ~ is a glass artist and she makes beautiful dichroic nuggets, stained glass and fused glass. Oh! the candle holders are very nice and unique. And these are what Christa sent me.
I made a number of friends from these forums and they are all very nice people, willing to share their knowledge and giving constructive comments and advice. If you love wire jewelry, beading or jewelry in general and would like to learn or improve yourself, or just want to make friends, these groups are great. There are lots of resources, tutorials, etc. available if you are a member. Here are links to the groups that i joined. Joining is free. Enjoy them.

Jewelry- Pearl Necklaces & Earring
Been a while since I made something with pearl. Today I made two pearl necklaces and a pair of matching earring. One of the necklace is stringed while the other one is wire wrap. These are gifts to my second sister in-law who will soon be flying back to NZ.
Here are information on pearl on how to take care of them:
- Pearl's value and cost are judged by its color. Natural color pearl fetch higher price than dyed pearl.
- Try not to wear them in water especially chlorinated water as chlorine will damage the pearls.
- Do not wear your pearls while swimming in the sea as residues from the water will ruin your pearls.

Jewelry-Charm Bracelet (First)
This is my first ever wire wrap charm bracelet. A belated birthday present for a niece in-law who is back for holidays from New Zealand. She mentioned earlier about detachable charms but poor me, I have never heard of it. Anyone of you heard of this or may suggest any websites specializing in this? Or maybe I am just to busy to keep myself updated with the latest trend. Anyway, the charms are a mixture of agates, malachite, rutile stones, jade and pearl and some metal beads. Tried to vary my wire wrapping skill here but not very productive today due to frequent distractions. And they are not detachable! However, I can tell she really like the bracelet. Phew! It is hard to satisfy teenagers these days.

Beads! Beads! and More Beads!
These are my new beads from Canada . What a beady day I had when I got all these from my sister in-law the other day. There are handcrafted glass beads, cracked glass beads, fire polished glass Czech beads in various colors, amber glass accent beads, spacer beads and lampwork glass beads. Back in 2006, she also sent me some beads through friends who came back for holidays. Up till now I have not used them up yet. There are so many ways I can wire wrap them into jewelry. But I have to put them on hold until I finished with commissioned pieces and special request pieces.

Fish tooth for Wire Jewelry
Have you ever seen this fish before? Look at the teeth. I think those teeth will make very nice beads for a bracelet! Oh well ... a bit yucky though! This is what they call Parrot fish. Hubby went out fishing last weekend but he didn't catch this one. This was given to him by the boatman who caught it. It weight about 3.5kg. So the teeth are just the right size for a pair unique earring...:-)
According to Wikipedia, Parrot fishes are named for their oral dentition; their numerous teeth are arranged in a tightly packed mosaic on the external surface of the jaw bones, forming a parrot-like beak which is used to rasp algae from coral and other rocky substrates. Other article on Parrot fish is also available at National Geographic.

TWA Bracelet Goes International
Yippi!!! Again? My twice around the world pretties is going "international" at last, as this green agate TWA wire wrap bracelet which I made this afternoon is now the property of this great lady.
Meet my new "model", Karen who is from Calgary, Canada. She and hubby are on holiday here in Kuching and later on to Kota Kinabalu. She is my sis in-law's friend and now she has also become my friend. Been wondering how my pretties would look like on a "white lady" and I am not disappointed. Looks great and looks good!! :-).
Out of respect and as per her request, I purposely blurred the face portion of the picture. But she is kind enough to let me post a picture of her with this bracelet.
This is a present from me to her and I am so glad she like it very much.
