"Special Gifts" from Special Someone

wire earrings by WilliamI received two pairs of earrings today from that special someone. That special someone is William, my little boy. He will be 5 next March and I can't believe he made them all by himself this afternoon. Normally I don't let him play with my tools and wire but today is a special treat as he has been a good boy whole morning. He asked for some of my left over wire and said " I will make mommy something to hook on the ears" and I left him with the tools and wire and the two black beads. The result is the "S" shaped earrings. He made the second one a bit later but not as well done as the first pair. Looks like he managed to learn something even though I don't let him play with the pliers and wires.

Ethnic Ring - Mine for the keeping

wire wrapped ethnic ringwire wrapped ethnic ring around my fingerToday I made another ethnic ring. It turned out quite well balance and I have decided to keep this for myself :D. The size is just right for my middle finger. As a comparison, you can see the ring is much smaller than the first ethnic ring I made last weekend.

Ethnic Ring No. 2

Not satisfied with the first ethnic ring (previous entry), I made another one here. This time its smaller and suit my finger nicely. Still there is a small mistake made on the two center wire coils. They are way too short. Miscalculation on my part. They lie too flat making the ring looking rather flat top. This time around I managed to complete the ring in under 3 hours. Am thinking of a third one already -- more in trying to improve the two center wire coils. wire wrapped ethnic ringwire wrapped ethnic ringwire wrapped ethnic ringwire wrapped ethnic ringwire wrapped ethnic ring around fingerwire wrapped ethnic ring on fingerwire wrapped ethnic rings

Wire Wrap Ethnic Ring Ala Iza

Sore thumb, sweat and a wee bit of blood is the result of this ring. I finally finished this wire wrap ethnic ring based on Iza's tutorial. She is just so talented and I am always in awe of her creations. Her tutorial makes everything looked so simple but it is actually not that simple especially when I am working with stainless steel wire. Got my thumb poked by the sharp end of the wire while working on it. This is actually not the first time I injured myself with wire. There were worst injuries than this but this one I managed to take a snap shot of. I spent about 3 to 4 hours on this ring. It is a bit too chunky and big for my finger but I love it. I am halfway modifying her instructions and measurements as I want to create a smaller ring that suit my finger better. wire wrap ethnic ring based on Iza's tutorialwire wrap ethnic ring based on Iza's tutorialwire wrap ethnic ring based on Iza's tutorialwire wrap ethnic ring based on Iza's tutorialwire wrap ethnic ring based on Iza's tutorialwire wrap ethnic ring on finger wire wrap ethnic ring based on Iza's tutorialwire wrap ethnic ring on finger
