Went Shopping Today

I went shopping this morning and look at what I have gotten for myself! Aren't they beautiful, especially those Labradorite Rondelles (10mm) and moonstone (8mm). Other than that, I also purchased two huge agate (oval) that have surface that look like fish scales. Really special this stones but quite heavy due to the size - about 3 in long. Other gems I bought include a strand of freshwater pearl (baroque-shaped), 2 button pearls, faceted teardrop smoky quartz, 3 pieces of free form black onyx and some metal spacers. I am in love with the labradorescence!

Tourmaline Briolettes & Pearl Earrings

Happy Valentine! and here is a very special earring for this very special day. This is a commissioned piece and this time I use something I have never use before - tourmaline! I just love the color of this gemstone but they are just so expensive. They look like stars. The centerpiece are 6mm gold colored swarovski crystals. I wrap the pearls and tourmaline briolettes with 30g wire. Happy Valentine!

Fisherman Wire Jewelry

Let me introduce you to the "Fisherman Jewelry". These are the two new necklaces I mentioned last night. Was planning for one but turned out two of them. These two are a bit different from my other pretties because I used two metal jigs instead of the usual beads and crystals. I was tempted to buy these jigs when I visited the fishing tackle shop with hubby two weeks ago. Their colors are just too attractive to be ignored although they are a bit in the heavier side. Each of them weigh 28g as indicated near the tail of these jigs. But fishermen are strong man isn't it? So, 28g is no problem to hang around the neck while fishing. Who knows it may bring good landings....:). The beads attached to each of the necklace are clay beads from Vietnam while the chains are stainless steel chains. What do you think? Is there a market for fisherman jewelry out there?

New Turquoise Necklace

Back to wire wrap jewelry, today's completed piece is this turquoise necklace for my sister-in law in Calgary. The size of turquoise is about 8mm and I used 22g wire for the wrapping. It measures approximately 16in in length. Simple and elegant, that's how I see it. I hope it matches her earrings, or was it bracelet?...duh old age! Actually there is another piece of necklace in the making but I didn't manage to finish it this evening. Something quite different, ya really different! :)...and you might even laugh at it. Someone already did that when I described what I am planning to do to him.....Anyway, I will complete it by tonight....
