Stringing Project

Today, I made several sparkly rings again but decided later on to do just restringing work since my thumb is a bit painful to do all the wire wrapping. Yeah, its painful :( Good that a friend of my mom-in law brought over some of her necklaces to be re-stringed into necklaces and bracelets. Hopefully tomorrow would be better. Otherwise, the holidays will be wasted.

Wire Work Related Hazard

Yeah! Wire working can be hazardous to your fingers. Look at what it does to my fingertips. Looks scary right? This is the result of working on a number of rings (can't tell how many, but a lot). My skin is peeling and there is a painful crack on my thumb. The bottom pix shows the pointing finger with the hardened tip as a result of repeated pressing/holding of the wires in place. Not that I am complaining but just want to share with readers that the handcrafted pieces don't come easy (sometimes!). That aside, it will not slow me down from twisting wires :D I am addicted, so I don't feel the pain :P. I wonder what is next? I wonder if other wire workers get this type of fingertips as well?

Pearl Briolettes Earrings

Can never get enough of pearls. What can I say? It is my favorite gem. I made this "Baby Shoes" today. Didn't notice that they look like baby shoes until I took this picture. I discovered these pearl briolettes at Szarka's Ebay store few weeks back and ever since they arrived few days ago, they have been whispering to me....every second of the day :P I broke one piece though...actually I accidentally drop it on the floor and it breaks at its neck.

Sparkly Ring - Pearl Version

Working with swarovski crystals whole day can be tough on your eyes. So, to relax my eyes, I shift to pearls. OK, I am exaggerating a bit here but really after so many days with swarovski crystals, I just can't wait to try something else so the result is this Pearl version of the Sparkly Rings I have been making lately. The technique use is similar with the Sparkly Ring. The tutorial for this ring is available at my Etsy Shop - WireBliss and on this blog (top right hand corner). This ring is also for sale at my etsy shop if you are interested. You see, if you know how to make this ring, there is no end to how you would like the ring to look like. You can mix and match your favorite gemstones and colors. But I just love pearls. They are evergreen....like me :P

They Are Here - Stones fm Szarka

No wonder this evening I feel like rushing home as soon as the clock strike 5:30pm. That must be my sixth sense working. When I arrived home the first question I asked was "Is there a package for me?" Sure enough, the Priority Mail envelope was sitting on the counter. Yippe! They are finally here! My gemstones from Szarka. I opened the wrapping slowly and very carefully and she really wrapped them securely. Thank you Szarka for such beautiful gemstones. They look exactly as shown in your ebay store. The pearls are so beautiful. I have never seen something like that over here before. And I am in love with the teardrop labradorite. I should have purchase more! :D And thank you for the additional moonstones. You are very kind. I will make something beautiful with them......
