Green Themed Necklace

Today, I finally got this commissioned green themed necklace done! This is really slow, considering I have all the beads and wire ready since last weekend. I used 25g stainless steel wire for the wraps and 20g for the chain. The length of the necklace is about 16 inches, while the pendant from end to end is about 2 in. Under Construction Necklace

under construction green themed necklace This green themed necklace is still under construction. It will be a wire wrap necklace, not string as you can see here. The beads consist of 6mm bicone swarovski crystal, greenish round glass bead (approximately 10mm), pearl beads and green teardrop cat's eye for the pendant. It is still under construction as I need to show this to the future owner the layout before I wrap them. Any suggestion from you readers out there of how to make this design more interesting and eye-catching? Please leave your comment if you have the time. Thanks in advance.

Beaded Flower Earrings

Wire Wrapped Beaded Flower EarringsThis pair of earring is modified from Trude Janofsky's "Basket full of pansies" (Bead and Button Magazine Special Issue - "Wirework", page 60). I have added an 8mm swarovski crystal and a white 6mm bicone crystal on top of each earring (not very visible here), to give it more glitter. Quite easy to make I must admit. This is for Ahmi as well and I wish her all the luck when she wears them to the casino.

Peridot & Swarovski Crystal Necklace

Laying out the Peridot & Swarovski Crystal NecklacePeridot & Swarovski Crystal NecklaceAhmi waited for more than a year to get this done. We have been looking for the right peridot for her necklace since her last trip here last May and we found the "perfect" one last weekend. For this necklace, I alternate every two peridot beads with a bicones swarovski crystal (6mm). I think the color of the peridot and crystal match each other perfectly.close up of 6mm round peridot and bicone swarovski crystal

Why Handmade Jewelry is Unique

What makes a handcrafted jewelry different from those you find at the malls or jewelry stores where they are mass produced and found everywhere? For me, a custom handcrafted jewelry is unique as it may be the only piece that exists in the whole wide world (I am exaggerating here! “*smile*) but seriously that is why it is unique and original. Given as a gift, it makes the recipient feel special, and the giver happy if the new owner appreciates and loves the gift. The uniqueness factor allowed the owner to feel they own something different from their friends and neighbors. There is no one handmade jewelry which is exactly alike even if someone tried to copy it. Ever since I started with wire jewelry, I have given friends and family numbers of pretties (lost count of it!) and it is a nice feeling being able to give something I handcrafted and love by most of the new owners. Here are some of the handcrafted wire jewelry that I have given away as gifts to family and friends: Bangle1, Bangle 2 (to be claimed later), TAW Bracelet, TAW goes International, Charm Bracelet, Memories, Copper Earring, Fish Hook, Flower Earring and Necklace Set, Flower Earring, Wire jewelry, Pearl earring and necklace set, Pearl Flower, Stringed necklace, Watch with pearl straps.
