Still no Wire Jewelry but CNY Pix

We are into the third day of the Chinese New Year and its a wet! wet! new year this year. Yesterday was not bad, no rain but it rained the whole day today although not very heavy. They call it "long life rain" - rain that last whole day and night or maybe days. As with previous years, the 2nd day is temple visiting day (for prayer) and relatives and friends visiting day. We visited three temples and a relative today. Ya! You may say only one relative?? Oh well! as what mom-in law says, not many relatives in Kuching anymore as they are all scattered all over the world. Enjoy the pix then! I better get back to my addiction *smile*, wire jewelry tomorrow else the holidays will be over soon.....*sigh*.

Food and Fireworks

No wire jewelry post today because its Chinese New Year Eve! Yeh...celebration time. If you ever wonder what we people eat during reunion dinner, oh well at least in our family, here are photos of some of the dishes we had earlier this evening. Big prawns are a must, fish and steamboat are also a must. The chicken curry and meat rolls are suppose to be in as well but we didn't serve it. Too much to go around. Steamboat is my personal favorite ...actually I don't care about the other dishes when the steamboat is in the menu...hehehe!. Everything is in the steamboat - prawns, crab balls, prawn balls, egg rolls, chicken meatballs, quail eggs, etc. etc. but most important of all is the fish maw. Yucky! Oh no! They are the best, my favorite and they cost a bomb. Depending on the type of fish, price ranges from RM300/kilo to few thousand per kilo. So, we have them only for special occasions. Once again, Happy Chinese New Year to all.

Prepared for the Ancestors

These dishes were prepared by mom in law this morning for the annual prayer. Do they look familiar? Yummy! Yummy! Have a prosperous and healthy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi! Gong Xi! Angpow gia lai! :P More yummy stuff tonight - the reunion dinner.......

New Fun Earrings

These are two pair of fun earrings I managed to whip up in between cleaning the room in preparation for the Chinese New Year. Very simple dyed shells and pearl earrings.

Three New Bracelets

I did it! I finally finished these three commissioned pieces last night. Sent them out this morning and I just hope they will reach their destination by Wednesday the latest. The purple themed bracelets is made up of amethyst, swarovski crystal, pearl and glass bead. The red themed bracelet is made up of fire polished beads, blue flash rainbow Moonstone heishi, swarovski crystal, tourmaline, pearl and glass bead. The turquoise bracelet made up of turquoise, pearl, swarovski crystal and a big red crystal as the centerpiece. All of them measures about 7 in in length. I just hope they fit their new owners. I have been wanting to make myself something for the Chinese New Year but have not been able to yet. Will make do with old pretties....:) To all readers of my blog out there, I wish you a very happy and prosperous Chinese New Year! Kong Xi Fatt Chai!

Two New Clasps...

In between spring cleaning and shopping for the coming Chinese New Year celebration, I managed to get these done over the weekend. Just to clasps? Well they are not totally completed yet but will get it done tonight. They are part of the bracelets in the making. More pix in the coming days. Weekend is not over yet but I need to get these done tonight, else they wouldn't reach the would be owner before the holidays.....
