Happy belated Mother's Day to all moms and soon to be moms out there.
As usual, I am always belated lately :) especially in updating this blog.
Anyway, it was a quite Mother's Day for me. Just dinner at one of the boys favorite places.
As mother, I am happy when they are happy. After all, that's what being a mother is about....of course there are other things but HAPPY is a big word for children. I am sure a lot of you would agree...yes! yes! yes!?
There is a saying "We never know the love of the parent until we become parents ourselves".
Enough rambling, here is one wire wrapped pendant I completed recently.
This is a relatively big stone (name and origin not known) that looks like palm oil seed.
It is rounded and has no hole so I spent some time figuring out how to wrap and secure this stone.
I ended up with this "spider web wire wraps" and I am quite happy with the outcome.
Here are more pictures of the pendant. Got the idea?
I wonder how this wrap would work with irregularly shaped stones?
Have a great week!

Donut Jade Pendants
I made these two wire wrap donut jade pendants today and I am quite happy with the results.
The first one (green jade) is a commissioned piece and features 3 4mm pearls at the front and one at the back of the pendant, coral bead (red) and another 4mm green bead (not sure of the name).
The second one is now available at my Etsy Shop (go check now!), features a donut pendant measuring about 3.7cm from top to bottom while at its widest part, the donut measures 3cm. The flower a the top is created with spring in mind. Faceted tourmaline briolettes form the petals while pearls of various sizes adorned the center and back of the pendant.

Gorgeous Tulips from Portugal!
Ligia from Portugal said "I would SO LOVE a Tulip Tutorial!!!!
:-))".
Then she got her tutorial few days ago. Now she is kind enough to share with us her wire wrapped Tulips.
Here is what Ligia has to say about the tutorial:
It was very easy to follow your tutorial, and especially the thing I always find hardest, you make it very simple, because you tell us exactly all the wire measures. In some tutorials we almost have to guess, but here it was excellent, and I didn't waste any wire, which is very important.
Thank you Ligia for sharing these! I am happiest when someone successfully completed a project based on my tutorials.

Wire Wrapped Fossilized Coral Pendant
Not sure why but I kept forgetting the name of this stone.
Most of the time, I only remember the coral part :)
This stone comes is several shades of colors - brown, reddish, gray, yellow, red as can be seen here.
The beautiful part of this stone is the flower like patterns in the stone. Just awesome!
This pendant measures about 1in long and 0.8in wide.
I wrapped it in this particular way so that the "flowers" are all visible because that's the beauty of the stone.

Airport and Donut Jade Pendant - Pipa Wrap
Here I am at the KKIA waiting for my flight home to Kuching.
Been here for the last 2 hours and I have another hour to wait.
So, here I am posting another wire wrapped piece which I have been wanting to post the last few days but interrupted by this travelling.
This is a very tiny donut jade pendant.
The donut jade itself is only about 1 cm in diameter.
A custom order by a close friend of MIL.
Had hard time figuring out how to wrap it and in the end decided that the pipa wrap would be the safest besides adding size to the tiny jade.
All through the making of this pendant, I was worried that I am going to break the jade.
Its so delicate but thankfully it didn't happen.
Ok, got to go...see you in Kuching :)

Wire Wrapped Tulip Brooch/Pendant/Earring - All in One (maybe new Tutorial)
Spent the whole day wire wrapping this tulip brooch cum pendant cum earring (1 side only :)) and took lots of pictures as I am thinking of turning them into step by step tutorial later on...but still thinking. That is why the "maybe" in the title...hehe. Why "maybe" you may ask? Well, writing a step by step wire jewelry tutorial is not as easy as you thought. Takes lots of time in choosing the best pix, editing them, prepare the doc, writing, editing, editing, editing, proofreading, proofreading, edit again, formatting, converting files, etc. etc. That is why.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this piece and I shall announce it if I finally decided to do the tutorial.
Maybe I should just go ahead with the tutorial. Ah! Let me sleep over it.
Sweet dreams and good nite.

Up and Coming Wire Jeweler in the House
Introducing someone who has shown interest in this thing called Wire Jewelry.
He did play around with wire and made me these 2 pairs of 'S' shaped earrings when he's 4 years old.
He is now 17 years old. Time really flies while they are growing.
He is slowly taking interest in creating wire jewelry again.
Very slowly as he will be sitting for his exam soon.
Here are some of his earlier wire wrapped pieces with stainless steel, copper and brass wires. They were his 2018 year end long school holiday projects. Most of them are practice pieces. Haha, yeah, it took me that long to post them today.
This guy is good with crafting and working with his hands. In his own words, he likes creating "original designs" e.g. wooden crossbow, Katana, knives, mechanical thingy, etc.
Those are for another day posting.

Double Abundance and Time
How time flies. I didn't realize that its been a week since I last posted.
Office work been keeping me busy these days including weekends :(
Although I tried to keep work within the confine of "office hours", Monday - Friday, sometimes its just impossible. Not that I like to, but got to, as my line of work involves deadlines all the time.
Maybe my time management is not good enough. But I only have so much time right?
Will I do it better with a citizens watch?
That also explains why I have been a bit slow in the wire jewelry creations department.
By the time work is done, the mood for creating is not there anymore. Not only that, I have been out of touch with facebook friends and tweetering as well.
Most of the time, I'd be surfing here and there, aimlessly.
It is during one of these surfing session that I came across this site - of all sites, a watch site, gold mens watch, you name it, there is a long list there. Guess they know I have been thinking about time a lot these days. Not that I am planning to buy watch but I was attracted to the jewelry and the site layout.
You know I have been working on my site layout.
There are items and links I want to put up there but still no time to work on it.
This watch liquidator site is an inspiration.
I'd like my site to be like that one day - minimum clutter, easy and fast navigation and their shipping info, payment terms, F&Q are clearly explained in straight forward fashion.
Yeah! Lots of work needed there and clutters to clear up. What more, blogger now allows you to create your own templates design. Now I need more citizens watches!
Hopefully after this week, I'd be 'freer' to create.
I have said this hundred of times but its mid-March now and I am still behind.
Ok! not to bore you more with my rambles, here is a wire wrapped double donuts pendant I managed to complete after a long long time. Sorry Bi to have kept you waiting for a while :)
This is really a special pendant and the feeling it gives me is - ABUNDANCE!
Isn't it great?
I wish for abundance of time.
How about you?

Sea Horse - Variation
This wire wrapped seahorse pendant is another piece that took me long time to complete - almost whole day. The shaping of the seahorse frame took the longest time. Finally completed this pendant this evening. Matching earrings to go but that would be for later or tomorrow.
This seahorse looks very pregnant don't you think so? Hehe! Its a custom order and I hope the new owner would love it as much as I do.
Length - about 7 cm from top to bottom.
Stones - garnet, tourmaline, Swarovski crystals and corals.
Wire - 20ga for the frame and 28ga for weaving and coiling.
I especially love the colors of the tourmaline (centre) when the sunlight shines through them.

Another Wire Wrapped Fossilized Coral Pendant, Large
Although it took less than 2 hours for this piece, posted 2 days ago, this one here took me the whole Sunday!
It doesn't look that complicated but I don't know why it took so long.
But, I admit a lot of time was spent massaging the piece and the wires and thinking how to wrap the wire so it will hold the Fossilized Coral in place.
Figuring and re-figuring, bending and unbending, wrapping and unwrapping the wires couple of times actually.
Hope it doesn't show here..hehe....
Clean look at the front right.
You wouldn't want to look the back of the pendant
Custom order for a special lady and I am running out of Fossilized Coral.

Happy Valentine's Day - IN LOVE with Copper n Black Steel Wires
First of all I would like to wish HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all readers and visitors of my blog. I hope you are surrounded by love and love ones on this special day and the days ahead. Thank you for visiting / revisiting my blog. Although I am not "celebrating" this day per se, I would like to think that everyday is a Valentine Day for me.
Originally I was planning for a wire wrapped rose pendant but I ended up making these two rings instead. This time around I added Swarovski Crystal and Pearl as the focal on them.
My favorite is this copper rose ring - 14ga wire. Comfortably heavy and love the size.
Enjoy them!
Tutorial for this ring is available - Click Here Wire Wrapped Rose Ring

They (Butterflies) Discover Nectar
I started this post yesterday but left before I can complete it.
Now, its almost 24 hours later - how time flies!
Continue on from yesterday.....
*******
Two butterflies and two flower pendants.
Perfect match!
Here's some facts about butterflies.
Butterflies only sip liquid food. These can be nectar from flowers, liquid from rotting fruits and.....(not so nice) also rotting animal flesh or animal fluids (yucky!).
Sipping is done using a tube-like proboscis.
This is their 'tongue' and it is long and flexible.
When not in use, this 'tongue' coils up into a spiral (mmm..love spiral).
These pendants were shipped out yesterday and I hope the new owner will love them.

Back to School and Peace Pendant
When the boys start school earlier this week after a week long holiday, it means back to busy time for me.
Besides work, basically its back to the routine of dropping and picking up the boys from schools.
Morning is not so much of a problem as I drop Henry at his kindy on the way to work.
At noon time, I have to rush to pick him up and drop him off at home by 12:30pm. As he gets out of the car, William gets in and off we go as he is in the afternoon session which starts at 12:45pm. After dropping him off, normally just on the dot, I'll drive straight to office, grab a quick lunch (normally tapao / take away) and back to work - all within 1 hour, provided there is no traffic jam.
That's basically my day on week days.
Now you know why I am always looking forward to weekends and holidays....hehehe.
I am sure there are many parents in similar situations as I am but that is part of life over here.
Not sure about other places though....maybe you can share.
Enough rambling, here is what we really need - PEACE - at home or outside home.
This wire wrapped Swarovski Crystal peace pendant was completed a while back but it got pushed back and back till now.
Its quite large, about 5cm in diameter but it is meant to grab attention :D
Have a PEACEful day!

Back to creating, here is a large agate pendant wire wrapped with the 28ga wire (lots of them), netted style.
Been a long time since I last wrapped it this way - Beautiful Rubies 2008 and its very therapeutic I must say.
Unlike other wraps, I like this as almost the whole stone and its pattern is visible.

Jade Donut Pendant, Chinese Pipa
Exactly 2 years and 2 days ago! just notice the date when linking the post :)
How time flies.
Revisited, with a slightly bigger jade, unakite, red coral and agate (because its a custom order).
or Chinese Knots with wire, Corra has the tutorial/s.
Corra is an expert in Chinese Knotting with wire.
(disclaimer - Corra's PIPA knot tutorial is for earrings and not this pendant
don't want to be blamed for misleading later on. Need a bit of modification for this piece)
Happy weekend and creating :)
