New Wire Wrapped Stud Earrings

Two pairs of Wire Wrapped Pearl Stud Earrings
It feels like a long time since I last made these studs.
Finally two new pair of pearl stud earrings based on my top wrapped and simple but elegant methods.
They are wire wrapped with only a piece of wire (each side), no soldering or gluing.
They are really fun to make and will make great gifts...especially last minute gifts.
These two pairs will soon be heading to their new owners :)

Here and There

We were out and about for the last two weeks. First mom, sis, nieces and nephew came visiting for about a week.
Henry (right) and Brian (cousins) really adore each other :) Can't bear to let Brian go home.

Earlier, they were at the crocodile farm - more pictures here. It was really hot and humid so we didn't really stay that long and the boys were restless almost immediately wanting to go to the next stop.the boys looking at the crocodiles at Jung Crocodile Farm

Notice William's new teeth. Hope they are not "wai wai" one.

Then, last weekend, me and hubby went looking for fresh fish...
No! not on this boat...Am just playing around with the camera..

Stop by the jetty at Kpg. Rambungan and have a 'long walk' right to the end of the jetty.
Several people were fishing there and one of them caught a kilo+ fish.

There were lots of fish at Kampung Sempadi but not our type of fish...catfish...yikes!
lots of fish at Kampung Sempadi, in the freezer
Still at Kampung Sempadi, we met an old man busy building this long boat.
Talked to him for a few minutes...hmm...hubby likes to talk to strangers who turned out to be his friend's uncle...small world...

Gem Among the Thorns

Its durian season again in Sarawak and you can see this King of Fruits all over the City...ok a bit exagerating here but they are definitely in season.
Hubby bought some back this afternoon and I took the opportunity to snap picture of this newly completed cuff on top of one of this thorny fruit.

cuff is wire wrapped with various gemstones, pearls and Czech beads

This cuff is wrapped with various gemstones, pearls and Czech beads. It is not as easy as it looks especially on the part of shaping the wires to fit the stones and making sure that the measurement would not be more than 7 inches. It is still beautiful though especially for those who love lively and fresh colors.
Happy weekend all.

Visitors to the Garden this Evening

After yesterday, I got some time to clear the book shelve in the room and discovered that I have more than 10 books in there collecting dust. These books have been collecting dust since I bought them, some from few years back. I don't even remember I have them...duh!
Looks like I have to allocate some time for them. First task is to wipe off the dust and its done. Secondly to find the time to read them...that is the difficult part.....
And hey, look who visited the garden this evening?

Simple Wire Wrapped Butterfly Pendant

While managing the sales last two days, I spent some time creating this simple wire wrapped butterfly pendant. This is similar to the copper butterfly created few days ago only that I use 19ga wire and this is smaller much smaller in size.
This is a potential low cost tutorial but we shall see.
Would you be interested?

Was Here and Now Gone - Sales Ended and I Learned Something

The sales at my Etsy Shop ended few minutes ago.
It's been a great sales but a bit tiring as I don't want to keep you all waiting so I was never far from the computer...LOL. Glad it was during the weekend. Shall keep this in mind for the next sales.

One thing I noticed during this period is that the low cost tutorials seems to be doing better than the normal tutorial even though they are not on sales.
It cannot be because they are cheaper because some of the normal tutorials are cheaper than the low cost tutorials during this sales period.

So, why is it like that?
Is it because people prefer simple and easy designs? Designs that don't take lots of time, lots of materials or tools, etc.

Enlighten me if you are one who prefers the low cost tutorials.
Does this means I should create more low cost tutorials? :)

Thank you all for it was a great and fun sales.

Wire Wrapped Copper Butterfly

A simple copper wire butterfly.
Just simple swirls wrapped together with 24ga copper wire.
Very roughly done as I am actually planning for a pair of earrings but this one is quite heavy.

The wings (swirls) consist of very thick copper wire - maybe 16ga or thicker.

Purple-Themed, Net Connection and X'mas

wire wrapped bracelet with czech beadsThe net connection was really bad for the last two days. It was down on Sunday and when it got back on, it seems to have slowed down a lot. It was down again last night so I went to bed early. Maybe it was back in the middle of the night, dunno! but it was ok this morning.

If I delayed on emailing tutorials to you for the last two days, I apologize but I am blaming Telekom for the delay. I hope it will get back to normal soon.

To perk up the day, here is another purple-themed bracelet to share with you.

Since X'mas season would be here soon, I will be announcing X'mas Sales for items on my Etsy Shop very soon.
So, keep posted.

Identical Twins | Brooch

If you do notice, I changed my blog layout again. Maybe its old age or something, I found that the older layout as too cluttered and very "painful" for the eyes. So, I spent the last few days looking for a minimalist, simple, white, 3 columns blog templates. Looked here, looked there, tested here and tested there, in the end I went back to Ourblogtemplates.com. Theirs are still the best especially for people like me, not very computer/or technically savvy when it comes to html/css coding, etc. Of course there were few others that I really like especially those with tabs for the sidebars (hint! hint! to Ourblogtemplates ;) - this will be perfect) as this really save a lot of space but there are always something else lacking such as slow to upload, can't change the colors without coding, etc.
Ok! enough about blog templates and here's pictures of my identical twins.

Psst! not bragging but I am very happy with the pictures taken with my Canon G11. These two pictures were taken outdoor, not edited except for reducing their file sizes.

New Low Cost Tutorial - Rose Earrings

This is my 3rd Low Cost Tutorial. I discovered this method of making rose earrings accidentally while making the Rose Rings. It is now available at my Etsy Shop - Rose Earrings Tutorial.
The beauty of this project is that you only use one piece of wire to make the rose earrings including the ear wire. It does not involve soldering or attaching a separate wire for the ear wires :)
